Write for us

Know a corner of Pakistan's geology well? We publish plain-language, in-depth articles — on regions, formations, fossils, concepts and the people behind the science. Fill in the form below; no account needed.

Plain paragraphs are fine. Use a line starting with ## for each section heading; roughly 600–1500 words.

List the published work your facts rest on — author, year, title. Our rule is “no source, no fact.”

Have a cover photo or diagrams? Describe them here with their source and licence — we'll email you to collect the files. Only images you have the right to publish, please.

Prefer another way to submit?

On GitHub: if you have an account, our submission form on GitHub captures the same fields.

By pull request (for developers): add a Markdown file to src/content/articles/, copying an existing article's frontmatter.

What we're looking for

  • On topic: the stratigraphy, geology, palaeontology, tectonics or economic geology of Pakistan.
  • Plain-language and in-depth: written for a curious non-specialist, roughly 600–1500 words.
  • Accurate and sourced: every factual claim should rest on published work — “no source, no fact.”
  • Original: your own writing, not copied from a textbook or paper. Paraphrase and cite.

How it's published & reviewed

We read every draft for accuracy, sourcing and fit, and may suggest edits or ask for a source. Accepted articles are published as a page here with a byline crediting you (and your ORCID and affiliation, if given), a publication date, reading time, topic tags and an automatic “On this page” contents list; glossary terms are linked for you. Everything is published under CC-BY-4.0, so the knowledge stays open and you keep the credit. We can't promise to publish everything, but we'll always tell you where a draft stands.
