Larger-foraminiferal study of the lower Eocene Sakesar Limestone at Nammal Gorge (Mianwali-Talagang road), western Salt Range; ~80 ft studied horizon. Sakesar Limestone (named by Gee 1935; type locality Mount Sakesar, 32 deg 31' N, 71 deg 56' E) is typically nodular off-white with frequent chert nodules. Identified LBF: Alveolina globula, A. pasticillata, A. ellipsoidalis, Nummulites mamillatus, N. atacicus, Assilina spinosa, A. laminosa, A. granulosa, Ranikothalia sindensis, Discocyclina dispansa, D. ranikotensis, Lockhartia tipperi, L. conditi. Nammal Gorge exposes Permian-Recent with breaks at the Paleocene base (laterite) and between the Sakesar and Miocene Siwaliks.
This page is the reverse of each unit's per-field citations — it shows exactly what this reference supports, making the dataset's “no source, no fact” rule browsable both ways.

- Fossils: Sameeni & Butt (1997), lower Eocene Sakesar Limestone at Nammal Gorge (western Salt Range; ~80 ft studied; type locality Mount Sakesar, Gee 1935; typically nodular off-white with frequent chert nodules): larger foraminifera include Alveolina globula, A. pasticillata, A. ellipsoidalis, Nummulites mamillatus, N. atacicus, Assilina spinosa, A. laminosa, A. granulosa, Ranikothalia sindensis, Discocyclina dispansa, D. ranikotensis, Lockhartia tipperi and L. conditi. Corroborates the Early Eocene age and expands the recorded fauna.
