Nilawahan Gorge — Tobra Formation glacial tillite

Salt Range · also Warcha–Nilawahan section

Exposures of the Early Permian Tobra Formation preserve glacial tillite and glacio-marine diamictite deposited when the Indian plate lay near the South Pole on the margin of Gondwana — the Salt Range record of the late Palaeozoic Gondwanan glaciation, correlative with the Talchir boulder beds of India.
