- Synonyms
- Passu Slates; Misgar Slate
The Passu Slate is a thick slate succession of the Upper Hunza Valley forming much of the southwestern flank of the Sost Anticline. Tahirkheli et al. (1990) showed that the Passu Slate and the Misgar Slate (northern flank) are a single formation doubled by the Sost Anticline. It overlies the Pak-China Friendship Formation with a well-marked unconformity, underlies the Gujal Dolomite, and is intruded by the Karakoram Axial Batholith and the Khunjerab Igneous Complex. No fossils have been reported.
